Protective Window Coverings
Protective window coverings help prevent vandalism and weather damage. They also insulate and offer sound-proofing against outdoor noise. There are four types of exterior protective glass: tempered glass, thermo units, laminate glass, and polycarbonate covering (lexan).
The best protection is offered by tempered glass because it most resists breakage and will not discolour over time. When installing the protective coverings, we make sure that there is proper ventilation between the stained glass and the coverings. This preserves the leading that binds the window together and prevents deterioration.
